Been a really good response so far from people interested in participating ( or just curious) and from a very broad range of locations and discipline areas.
I have emailed an invitation to all who contacted me to start blogging. Respond and I will send the password to you.
At present because mythological studio is in an early stage can we just post whatever we think is interesting to us. As the blog coordinator I really want to stay out of it abit as it is supposed to be student directed site for the purpose of general contact and more specifically collaborative directed online projects, exhibitions etc. It is up to how the participants interact as to how this will develop. Personally, I see it as a great opportunity to expand practices and to work cross-disciplinarily and internationally. It can also act as a diaristic online contact site for a whole range of images, ideas etc.
Lots of artists are using collaborative blogsites these days, as well as solo blog sites, and I think it is an interesting way to operate outside of the mainstream in art and in developing artist connections and exhibitions. I will add to the links page any artist sites I get so mythological studio will also act as link point for artist who have their own blogs as well.( As participants you can do that too.) The whole project is an ongoing one and not short term. I am hoping it will run its due course but that that may take years and develop into an extended internet artist contact site, magazine, exhibition hub...whatever.
Don't feel you have to put on artwork if you don't want... it could be just photos of stuff sourced from the web or taken yourself that you find interesting, curious or wish to get response to. Hope to expend the list of contributors again soon. There are about 30 at present and these is room for 70 more.
Any theme is ok...where are you...what is it like...location, place...any writing is ok too....there is not any blog police EXCEPT as the coordinator I will have to remove materials that may be considered slander, racist or sexist. ( just place things in context).I am not imaging many probems there but I do have to give that notice to you all.....phil e
